Visa Types Explained

E-visa/eVisa

E-visa, or eVisa, is short for electronic visa. It is simply a visa that you can apply for on your own through a country’s visa website. They are no different than other types of travel visas. The only difference is that you can complete the application online.

Visa-free

Visa-free refers to the ability to travel to a foreign country without the need for a travel visa. In such a case only a valid passport is required for entry and exit purposes.

Visa-free Days

Visa-free days (VFD) refers to the ability to travel to a foreign country without the need for a travel visa. In such a case only a valid passport is required for entry and exit purposes. The important difference between Visa-free and Visa-free days is that when entering on a VFD visa you must leave the country before the visa period ends - or serious issues can arise such as fines, a travel ban or prosecution.

Visa On Arrival

A visa on arrival, or VOA, that lets you obtain your visa upon landing at your destination instead of having it in hand before you even get on the plane.

Visa Required

Visa required means that travellers must apply for a visa to the country before actually travelling there.

COVID Travel Ban

Due to the Covid Pandemic the destination country does not allow any travellers from the origin country to enter for tourism purposes. Other entry requirements may apply, but you should consult the destination country's embassy.
